Lovable is an AI-powered website builder that changes how you can build and design websites. It enables you to create a functional Shopify website in minutes using natural language prompts and without touching code.
My tests proved that Lovable is easy to use for beginners, but can also be leveraged by users experienced in website building. In this review, I share my insights after testing Lovable to create a Shopify store, review its features, and more.

Lovable is an AI-powered builder that helps users unfamiliar with coding create their own apps or websites using language prompts. In October 2025, Lovable integrated with Shopify, letting you build a functional website using natural language prompts.
The way it works is you explain your website idea, and it builds the storefront, including pages, navigation, checkout, and products. Then, you can integrate the website on Shopify, set up payments, taxes, shipping, and other important business details to launch it.

When Tobias Lütke, Shopify’s CEO, announced Lovable’s integration with Shopify, I tested its capabilities over several days to create an unbiased review. Here are my main insights about this tool:
- I really appreciated how easy the tool is for complete beginners. Even if you’re unfamiliar with coding, you can simply explain your ideas to the AI tool in natural language, and it will code for you.
- The AI builder generated my full website in just 2 minutes and 40 seconds and followed all of my instructions correctly.
- The integration with Shopify is effortless – you can enable it in one click, and it will automatically fetch products from Shopify.
- I enjoyed the Project analytics feature, which let me review the statistics of my pages, including page views and bounce rates.
- Lovable ensures your website is SEO-ready, generating pages that follow the best SEO practices. It adds image alt texts, writes metadata, and more.

Now, let’s review the features in more detail and my own experience with them.
AI website generator
Lovable makes it very simple to build a functional website – all you have to do is write a detailed description of your vision, and it will generate it for you. During my tests, I asked the builder to create a Shopify website – a bookstore with product pages, an about us page, and a blog section.
I set off a timer on how long it took for the AI builder to generate my website – exactly 2 minutes and 40 seconds.
First, it took 19 seconds to think and generate a written plan of features, the exact design, like colors and typography. Then, it took another 2 minutes and 20 seconds to generate the whole website. It managed to include all the pages I asked it to generate without issues.
Seamless Shopify integration
Lovable makes it easy to connect your generated website to your Shopify account. You have to mention that the website should be made for Shopify when writing the prompt. If you forgot, you can ask Lovable to integrate the website to Shopify.
In the chatbox, you’ll find the Enable Shopify Connection box. Click Allow.
After pressing enable, Lovable started integrating my website into Shopify and took around 2 minutes and 32 seconds. While thinking, it told me what it’s doing, like replacing mock data with real products, adding a cart system, and creating a checkout flow.
Then, Lovable gave me a 30-day free trial of Shopify. However, you’ll need to subscribe to a paid Shopify plan to start selling. You can then sync your real products to edit their pages straight in the Lovable editor.
Visual editor
When Lovable generates your website, you can select elements on the page to edit them. You can update colors, text size, content, alignment, and more. It also doesn’t use any of your credits, so you can edit freely and as many times as you want.
You can also ask AI for quick changes, like adjusting the layout of specific elements, appearance, or functionality. In such cases, Lovable will deduct credits.
When I tested the visual editor, I found it intuitive. Though I found the shortcodes, like Alt + s buttons on Windows or Option + s on macOS, worked better.
Custom knowledge
Lovable allows you to set specific preferences or guidelines that you want the AI builder to remember throughout the creation of your project. You can note down what you want it to prioritize, the target audience, color scheme, typography, security practices, or even compliance requirements.
You can find this feature by clicking on your project in the top-left corner, then going to Settings > Knowledge. Click Save once you insert the guidelines.
I gave specific instructions for Lovable to follow, for example, “avoid unnecessary jargon or overly salesy language." I then went through the product descriptions and found that it listened to my guidelines – the language was simple, straightforward, and highlighted user benefits.
Project analytics
After your project goes live, you can use Lovable to track the website performance using the Analytics feature. It shows you valuable statistics, including visitors, pageviews, views per visit, visit duration, and bounce rate.
You can find the feature by going to your project’s Settings > Analytics. I also found that you can explore what devices your visitors are using, where they’re coming from, and what pages they’re viewing.
Code mode
If you’re familiar with coding, then you can edit your website’s code straight from the Lovable editor. All you have to do is click the “</>” icon straight in the editor.
Automatic SEO features
Lovable ensures your website isn’t just ready visually – it also optimizes the new pages for SEO. I used tools like the free TinyIMG Chrome extension to test whether generated pages include SEO-friendly metadata, heading structure, image alt texts, and canonical tags. I also checked if lazy loading is on with the Inspect tool on Chrome and looked for structured data using Google’s Rich Results test.
Here are all the SEO optimizations the tool does:
- Creates Shopify meta titles & descriptions, which include the main keyword and are under 60 characters or 160 characters, respectively.
- Uses a single H1 tag per page that matches the intent.
- Uses semantic HTML structure to clearly describe the meaning of the content. For example, it uses <header> instead of <div id=”header”> to make it easy for search engines and humans to understand.
- Generates descriptive website URLs, so search engines can understand your website structure better.
- Includes image alt texts, describing the content of the image and enabling search engines to understand your image context better.
- Adds structured data (JSON-LD) for products, FAQs, and articles.
- Enables lazy loading for Shopify images and non-critical resources, ensuring better website performance.
- Adds canonical tags to prevent issues with duplicate content.
- Focuses on mobile-first designs to ensure visitors on any device can have a great user experience on your site.
Business features
Specific features are reserved for Business plan users. Here’s what they are and why they’re useful:
- Single-Sign On (SSO) – Business users can enable SSO for centralized authentication across their company to ensure better security. It provides users with one set of login credentials to access tools.
- Data opt-out – ensures that none of their projects or code is used to train AI models. It’s automatically enabled and protects your company’s data privacy.
- Personal projects – allows you to create projects that are not visible to your workspace, only to you. It’s useful to test your ideas, as you can share it with others whenever you want.
- Design templates – your team can create design templates to ensure all projects match your brand style.
Is Lovable secure?
Lovable prioritizes security to ensure your data is protected. Here are the main features it provides:
- API keys. Lovable writes code that runs in the browser, ensuring your sensitive data won’t be stored in the code. Instead, it provides you with secret storage.
- API key detection. If you try to insert API keys (like for connecting third-party services), Lovable will warn you not to hardcode sensitive data.
- Security scanning. Before publishing your project, Lovable will show you security errors or warnings that its AI security scanner detected. You should always fix them before going live.
- Role-level Security (RLS). You can set who can view or manage which parts in your database to ensure no unauthorized access.
- SOC 2 Type 2 compliance. The standard means that Lovable was evaluated on how they protect customer data over a period of time.
- GDPR compliance. The GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) is a data privacy law in the European Union, ensuring companies don’t mishandle user data.
- ISO 27001:2022 certification. The standard ensures that the company continuously assesses risks and implements controls to keep sensitive data secure.
How much does Lovable cost?
Lovable offers 4 plans – free, Pro, Business, and Enterprise. The free plan is very limited and gives you 5 daily credits only, which reset at midnight (UTC). Meanwhile, all paid plans come with at least 100 credits, credit rollovers, private projects, and user roles.

The final price depends not only on the plan but also on the number of credits you choose to order. You can pick between 100 and 10,000 credits based on your needs.
I’d recommend the Pro plan for complete beginners or those who are looking to build a website fast. The plan provides you with all the tools needed to turn your vision into reality.
Meanwhile, I’d suggest the Business plan if you’re already advanced or have a team under your wing. It gives you advanced controls, such as internal publishing, so that only your team can view the generated website. Plus, you can opt out of data training and use Single Sign-On (SSO) – secure authentication across your organization.
As for the Enterprise plan, it’s best for large organizations that are looking to use Lovable long term and need opportunities to scale.
How to create a Shopify website with Lovable?
Lovable was made with beginner users in mind, allowing anyone to create a fully functional Shopify website without any coding knowledge. Here’s how to use it:
- Go to the official Lovable website.
- Create an account.
- In the chat box, describe the kind of website you want to create. Be descriptive, mention the type of products you want to sell, whether you want to run a blog on the side, and other details.
- Enable the Shopify integration by clicking Allow in the chatbox. If you can’t see the Shopify integration window, write “integrate Shopify and remove mock data” in the chatbox.
- Provide some information about your products and upload their photos. Lovable may even write product descriptions for you, which you can edit later.
- Click “Publish” when you’re happy with the result – Lovable will sync it with your new Shopify account.
- That’s it – you can continue setting up shipping, payment methods, and other details through your Shopify account and publish the site.
Customer support
Lovable offers multiple customer support options, including human support and helpful documentation. Here’s the support it offers:

Final thoughts
Lovable is a beginner-oriented tool for turning your Shopify store ideas into reality in mere minutes. According to my tests, it can generate a website in less than 3 minutes and enables seamless Shopify integration in one click.
From my experience, I enjoyed that Lovable followed my instructions precisely, including the custom knowledge guidelines. Plus, I liked that I could test the free plan before committing to a paid one.
