Alt texts, also referred to as alternative texts, are brief but vivid descriptions of the image content. They usually read like a short sentence and include the main keywords. Alt texts appear when the image doesn’t load on the screen.
Adding alternative texts to your images helps search engines understand your content and the context of the image better. This can help improve rankings in image search results. Updating alt texts can be time-consuming, but TinyIMG allows editing all images on a page in bulk.
1. Open TinyIMG.
2. Head to Improve SEO > Update alt texts > View details.
3. Choose the page you want to edit and click Edit.
4. Write the alt text for the images you want and press “Update.”
Make sure your alt texts are descriptive but don’t exceed 125 characters. Write exactly what you see in the image using the Sentence case. For example, let’s say there’s an image of a red rose painting on a wall. A good alt text would be “Painting of a red rose hung on a white wall”.
TinyIMG also allows creating templates to automate alt text creation for all of your images. Simply go to TinyIMG Settings > SEO metadata, create templates of your choice, and click Activate.
